Roomates

going to enter college in a couple of years, and I've had roomates before in summer programs and they SUCK! OK, are there any possibilities of me going to ivy league colleges that OFFERS single rooms for all 4 years (in dorms, not outside apartments)

thank you

probably no chance at all.

well I read in the worst roomates post that columbia has a lot of singles so someone didn't have a roomate for her whole time there

no roomies? What's the fun in that, I want one for at least one year (freshman, UofChicago).

Very low chance in most colleges. Singles are not space-efficient and hence not money-efficient for the college.

Penn has singles, also, in summer programs, they make NO effort to match up roommates. (hell, at summer@brown they just paired the guys up alphabetically in my dorm) In college you at least get a little questionaire to fill out so that the school can make some sort of effort to match you up with someone you would actually get along with.

Singles are no fun at all, try a double or triple at least one year, even if you get a bad roommate it'll be an eyeopener

I am getting a single for the first year I think..

yeah, with whom would you toke up if dont have a roomie:)

singles are AMAZING...and yes, about half of columbia freshmen get singles...about 30% of columbia sophomores however, get singles (because there's a lottery by seniority)..which is sucks. but in my case, i had a single freshman year and now (as a soph) i'll have a roommate, but it will be someone i know
