My daughter is filling out her housing application. Where are good places for her to room? She wants patterson as her first choice but is not sure where else to put.
Has she found a roommate? The Group Me is a good place for her to meet some students and begin talking to them. My daughter is OOS and found a roommate she seems compatible with.
I lived in the women’s quad (Sims, McClintock and Wade Hampton) a long time ago. They were completely renovated a few years back. Along with Patterson, they are great central location and I felt good about walking from there to Russell House and Library at night.
I urge her (and all the kids) to really put time into the roommate selection when using apps or social media. My daughter has been at boarding school for HS and the best roommate she had was one that she was matched with using matching software–a LOT goes into finding someone who is compatible to live with and it seems like a lot of kids meet someone and think “you sound cool…let’s live together” and are not discussing things that would be in a traditional matching questionnaire like room temperature, sleep/wake up times, cleanliness, music preference, etc. My daughter has found that it’s been harder living with “friends” than it was to live with someone who was custom matched to her, who she ended becoming friends with anyway.
Is the groupme only for oos students?
