Rooming with high school friends, good idea or bad idea?

<p>Since there have been so many housing threads posted lately, here's another one. </p>

<p>Is it a good idea to room with friends from high school? Does it usually work out ok, or does it cause problems at college? Are you better off rooming with people you don't know?</p>

<p>I roomed with my best friend and it was great. We just expanded our group since we met different people. But we were fairly easy-going and in different fields so non-competitive.</p>
