haha. "i'm white and rooming with three black people...HELP!" wow this is really lame. i'm not going to straight up call you racist, because hopefully you wouldn't mind if there were two or one black roommate. however, how can you think this is a "dilemma" that requires "help"? do you know how many hispanic, black, and native american students get roomed with only white or asian people...almost all of them (esp at top schools since there are even fewer URM's). and i've never heard one complain about "oh i have a white or asian roomate." why is it URM's are more comfortable being around mostly white and asians, yet (in this case) white people thinks its a problem or wierd if they are surrounded by to many black people. it's absurd.

i'm not mad at you. i just think its weak and ignorant to want to change roomates ONLY based on race. do you not see how racist this looks. and your worried about not being "isolated from my culture". what? you're white and unless you are going to a hist. black univ, i guarantee you you'll see puh-lenty of white folks to make you feel at home.

you don't even know your roomates yet. you don't even know what they look like besides the color of their skin. and you want to be removed from them? that's pretty sad.

i'm hispanic, and if i was roomed with 3 white people, i would naturally feel a little sad there wasn't anyone i could culturally relate, but that doesn't mean i wouldn't relate to my roomies in other ways. i'd be pretty excited. i can learn from them and they can learn from me.

you have the great chance of learning so much about a culture you obviously know little about. suck it up, even though i would never look at this situation as something i'd have to "suck up".
