Roommate format?

For those of you who've done the roommate essay, did you structure it as an actual letter to a roommate? I was thinking about just recounting an experience.

You can do it any way you want. Just make sure to tell something meaningful about yourself (directly or indirectly).

don't worry about the structure. i just wrote about an experience too (and was admitted scea). i've also read people's essays structured as a letter, informal and letterish. but make sure its an experience that says something about YOU, not who you want to be or think you should be to get admitted.

Mine was informal-ish--I kept a conversational tone and included a lot of descripiton (well, as much as I could with the character limit). Lines like: "You know what you don't see too often in Maryland? Guys walking down the street whipping themselves. As I was riding in the back of a pick up truck in the Philippines during Holy Week..."
