roommate question

I don't remember if, when I filled out the housing application, I allowed Berkeley to release my information to my roommate. If I didn't, will my roommates at least get my name?

Nope.

10 char

Cal is big on privacy protection. Unless you opt-in to share your name, they won’t send it to your roommate.

Unless you opt in, your parents won’t be told anything (except to get the bills if they are helping pay for your education). They won’t know grades, if you are on academic probation, if you have some problem, if you are ill, or basically anything unless you choose to have them know.

is there any way I can change my preference if I want to give my roommates my personal information? I don’t think I understood what was happening at the time

If their names are given to you, you just add them on facebook and talk there. I’m not sure if you can change the option now though.

Same happened to me

I was just thinking about that, which is why I started this thread… only if I had known at the time… darn

I wasn’t sure either whether or not I released my info but I emailed reshall@Berkeley.edu about 4 days ago and they responded pretty quickly so I’m assuming you still can now

I’m going to try that right now! thanks

I emailed them and girl tells me well… you did chose to release it. lol

yeah they told me that too

So on the supposed day we’re to find out our roommates, do we just check our calmail or is there somewhere else we’re supposed to find this out?
