I was asked to list three most important factors in determining my roommate next year, and since next year will be my first year boarding, I do not know to put.

I can only speak to college roommates but some things that come to mind are - night owl vs. early riser – its hard to room with someone who has an opposite sleep pattern from you. quiet room vs. social hub – do you like having alot of people in your room all of the time or do you prefer it to be a quiet sanctuary? Hope that helps.
Are you neat? Like to study in quiet? Are you talkative or can you be comfortable being with someone and not talking? Are you really modest? Don’t like other people touching your things?
Some of those kinds of things can really matter with a roommate (but not a friend ).
