Roommate Selection...

I applied for housing awhile ago, the first few days you were able to, and I chose house preference mostly since I didn't have anyone to room with. I noticed on the application it only stated something about if you like waking up early and if you listen to music when you study. Do they give you something else like a questionaire to better match up with a roommate or is it completely random?

Lol! well by the research I’ve done, FSU uses those few questions and your priority number to generate your roommate. Especially if you chose hall as your preference rather than a specific roommate.

That’s it for the questions. But I was told that those two questions rule out the two most common problems, believe it or not.

I have many friends who got great random roommates, and a few who weren’t crazy about theirs. Luck of the draw I’m afraid.

Which was your preference roommate or hall? And what was your Housing Agreement Number?

I feel like they like to keep honors students together even if we didn’t select Landis or Gilchrist. It’s really weird, but both my roommate and I (with extremely different priority numbers) were honors students with a similar number of college credit (30-40) and we got each other in Wildwood. Lots of other honors students I know were also paired with honors students too. I’m sure it’s not just a coincidence…

I questioned that also when I was filling out the housing application but apparently it’s random  luck of the draw I guess…

do I apply to housing even if I know i’m not haven’t chosen F.S.U yet or do I just wait until then after the C.A.R.E housing

I would apply for housing, especially since they do no guarantee it to freshman. I applied a week or two ago because I also was not really sure if I’m attending and my priority number was high up in the 5,000s! So if FSU is in your top 3 I would strongly suggest putting a deposit down. If you don’t end up going there they will refund all your money back but $50 anyway.

Like the person above said, if you feel that FSU is a top candidate for your schools selection then you should definately apply because of the strong possibility.
