Roommate Stuff Out :)

Eh... I checked my housing assignment last night and my other two roommates contact info showed up correctly. But now since they're correcting all the glitches, are they going to change the room assignment? Right after I checked up my roommates, I immediately sent them a Facebook friend request. One has already gotten back to me so far. I think it would be really awkward because they are not able to confirm the assignment while I appear as an overly enthusiastic roommate. So do I go on with the self-introduction?

^^Haha, yeah I was tempted to FB my roommates too, but I held off on it just in case. I'm guessing the glitch was accurate though, I doubt they are changing stuff last minute.

See, this is what happens when people gain access to things before they are officially released. They are still uploading / checking the data.

The link came from a cached page, and they hadn't changed anything for the year. Then, someone posts the finding up in public, and pre-release information is available.

I'd have to say - if I was running the site, it would have been a nightmare. Though, part of the blame goes to Berkeley for taking too much assumptions on how much to secure the data.

What is the worst that happens if they do make a last second change? You meet an additional friend or two early.

why are roomies still not up?

they usually update at 10am PST

The roommate page is not ready for viewing. Current info is available at the Living at Cal website.

What?!

UC Berkeley Fall 2008 - Residence Hall Move In

i think is the living at call website. you still have to wait for it to be updated.

i hope people realize that there isn't some guy at like a database of computers at 12:01 am typing in all these names and stuff
it takes time.

Realistically, the data should all be entered. Haven't they heard of cron.

Mine just says this:

Welcome Home!

Living at Cal is a once in a lifetime experience and we want you to enjoy it! We know that the first step is finding out where you will be living and who you will be living with, so let's get you there now!

Roomate name and contact information
will be available on

August 5, 2008.

We are looking forward to sharing this experience with you and hope that you will take full advantage of all the opportunities that we offer! See you in August!

But one of my roommates (maybe) contacted me and said she'd seen that we were roommates. So should I just go with that info? Where can I actually see all of the information?

Just talk to your roommate for now and if new information comes later, go by that. Worst case, you meet someone new.

actually the worst case is he could die.

did she say how she found out?

STILL not up?!

i emailed housing and they said everything will be up at 5pm TODAY. i'm pretty annoyed as i won't be home till late tonight.

Thank you very much sogood. I can stop checking every 5 minutes now.

why so late??????????? do they enjoy tormenting us or something? what is the point of delay!

......chill.

Allright, the "official" site doesn't work, but....

This one does. Again.

lol....

anyone have an updated bearfacts yet? i'm a bit curious to know what floor i'm on
