Roommates and Housing Assignments?

I was just wondering when our room assignment will be posted on the identikey website.

Thanks!

I was wondering the same. I am not sure if they do it in waves, or once everyone is committed which would be after may 1st

I think that mid-May would be the absolute earliest you would hear.

I got an email Friday with my housing assignment. Housing deposit was made Jan 26.
I’m in one of the engineering quad dorms, which is what my roomate and I wanted, but the room number is 012. Does anyone else think that sounds like it is a basement? If it is I need to changeas much sunlight as possible.

Don’t be so quick to change your room. My son had room 14 in Baker Hall. We thought the same thing, that he was in the basement. Which it turns out you are…However, the basement isn’t really underground. He has two windows in his room, and the windows are like at ground level. Yes, you do have to walk down the stairs to get to his room. We had the same concerns as you did, but we were told by someone in housing that most of the dorms have this kind of arrangement, where the bottom floor is like the basment level. My son actually got the corner room of his floor, which turned out to be the largest room on the floor. He was very happy with his room, plus it was at the end of the corridor so a litle quieter as he only had one other room on one side of his. He is an enginering major also, but elected not to live in the Honors Engineering or Quadrangle Dorms. Good luck!

Thanks Rousse54.
I can see from the photos on the housing website that only one side of Cockerell has windows that are below ground level, with window wells. I’m going to try to find out what side we’re on because I definately do not want to feel like I’m living in a hole with artificial light all the time.

I just got my rooming assignment and i’m in Libby and after some facebook stalking, it looks like my roommate is a junior and i’m going to be a freshman. Could this be possible? Because it seems really weird to me.

Remember that the main campus dorms have no air conditioning, and it can get be quite hot in Aug/Sep in Boulder (90+). The half underground basement dorms will be the coolest rooms in the building. Also, you can only be in the basement or third floor (think hot) because the middle floor is reserved for females.

^AEL Thanks.
nI contacted a guy I know who lives in Aden and he said he likes the basement. Said they call themselves the Ground Crew. And I do have a room with a window well. Guess I can be a mole for a year.

Devan1044,

When did you put in your housing application, and it is very unlikely that you have a junior for a roomate.
