What is the best place for first-years to live on campus?
My daughter lived in Doheney as a freshmen and McKay as a sophomore. Doheney was the honors dorm but she was a non honors student, it was a good fit for her. I think freshmen year she said the Del Reys were more active socially. The Palm buildings are new and I’m sure as brand new, they are quite nice. Her rooms at Doheney and McKay were similar (small, basic). As for location LMU is small enough that I don’t think location is really an issue.
My daughter lived in Del Rey South last year and loved it. The Palm buildings were under construction so not an option. I am sure they are nice, but I think more expensive than the other dorms. Rosecrans has a party reputation, but I don’t know how true it actually is.
