Rosetta Stone...

Yeah, so any comments on it? I have it in French but I haven't installed it yet.

I know someone who used it to learn French. She loved it.

I have a demo CD for it, and I didn't like it. I don't think I'll ever need to say, "The dog has fallen," or "The horse is jumping." It's just sentence memorization, which I don't think is a very good learning method. But I suppose it would suit some people better than others.

Are you sure there isn't more to it? Grammar excercises, reading comprehension, etc? Because it definitely is stupid if there isn't anything else.

My JROTC army instructor is really into visiting Latin America and has learned Spanish by taking courses at the local community college on the weekends and at night after school. He just recently completed the highest course level and got a Rosetta Stone CD to help him learn more and to reinforce what he's learned. He said it's very helpful and showed me around it; it looked pretty good.

might as well install it and see what you think
