I just received my decision from Ross and I'm on the waitlist. I didn't even know that they had a waitlist? Does anyone know how many people are on the waitlist and what the chances are of getting off it?

Also, would you recommend writing a brief email to Ross Admissions to summarize what I've been doing since applying to Ross to show more interest? I know this is a common thing to do for college admissions, but I was wondering if Ross is a different circumstance?

Yeah, none of my BBA friends have heard about it either… but if you look at the admission statistics from last year, there were 14 more students accepted than enrolled. I am assuming that those 14 students came off the waitlist.

I’m mainly just curious as to how many people make it on the waitlist in the first place.

^ i believe that’s incorrect, it means 14 students got accepted and declined to enroll at ross.

never heard of a waitlist either. definitely send in some updates (like a letter of intent plus new extra currics) to try and bump yourself into the class though.

I’m assuming that the class profile doesn’t include the PA kids who were accepted and decided not to go. The number of kids who decline PA is much higher than 14. I’m assuming 14 kids declined their acceptance because the number they aim for is around 500 (including the PA) and according to the class profile, they handed out 438 RD acceptances.

What…? 438 were accepted regularly, 89 were accepted PA, total being 527. 502 attending would mean 25 declined between regular and PA? What is this 14 number?

PA stats for this year:
2013-2014 PA Class Profile
Average high school GPA…3.91
Middle 80% high school GPA…3.70-4.00
Average ACT…33.2
Women…33%
International…7%
In-State…50%
Under-represented minorities…7%
Number of applicants…1,975
Number admitted…358
Number attending…133

Sorry to bump this, but I figured it would be useful for any future Ross wait-listers since there really isn’t much info about it out there.

I just got accepted off the waitlist on Wednesday, 2 weeks after the initial acceptances. From what Ross told me, they usually place 20 people on the waitlist which is why many people don’t even know about it. I learned that 16 people got off the waitlist last year (2012) and only 2 the year before, so it varies significantly year to year. From what I’ve heard and seen, so far 5 people (including me) have gotten off the waitlist this year.

Was waitlisted yesterday, and I am wondering if anyone knows the chances of being taken off the waitlist… is it a good idea to send a letter of interest?!
