Ross Business School preferred admission portfolio

For the portfolio’s #2 item, “Upload a document or artifact that represents something significant about your life to show your learning in action. Describe how your artifact demonstrates your learning in action. Please limit this response to approximately 250 words.”, does the “learning in action” have to be academics-related? There’s a song I wrote and produced and I learned so much from making it. If it’s an acceptable format of the “artifact” I’d love to submit it, I have lots to explain in the 250-word description. Should I go ahead, or find something else that’s more conventional?

Sounds like a great topic. See if you can weave together the information about the creativity part (the writing) and the business part (the producing).

@brantly So if I combine the musical side (writing and producing) and the “business” side of it (marketing, promo, distribution) would it be a well-fitting topic?

In my opinion, yes.

I would agree that this would be a good topic to write about. It allows admissions to see another side of you.
