ROTC Question

<p>Hey everyone,</p>

<p>I applied EA and just recently found out about the ROTC program. I've tried to contact them, but haven't been able to get in touch, so I was wondering: Although a contract commitment is required after junior year, is it possible just to be part of ROTC during freshmen and sophomore year w.out the obligation to serve afterward?</p>

<p>Also, if I plan on attending, should I notify the MIT Admissions Office? Obviously I'm not desperate enough to join this program just for the sake of admissions, but if it could help, then why not I suppose.</p>

<p>If you'd like to email with a current student who's doing AFROTC at MIT, send me a PM -- one of my husband's friends is a senior in the program, and he'd be happy to answer questions.</p>
