@greatfundeals I’m confused. I double checked the email and the SWE invite says March 24.
Is there something scheduled March 9?
ETA: RSVP date is March 9. It is a breakfast before the Rowan Engineering Accepted Students Day activities begin.

@MACmiracle Apologies, I got mixed-up between invites from 2 different universities. You are absolutely right, SWE breakfast at Rowan is indeed slated for 03/24.
@greatfundeals Thanks for the confirmation. I often rush and misread things so I’m relieved I have the right information.
We never received any notification (mail/letter) regarding accepted students day. Is March 24 only for Engineering? We plan to visit tomorrow for the tour, but if there is an accepted students day, we will wait.
They are supposed to send an email for Accepted Students Day which includes a link for registration. My D received the Society of Women Engineers invitation and, and that is the only reason I learned there would be an Accepted Students Day for Engineering at all.
Keep a look out for the email. Read it carefully when it comes. There might be a chance that the date could even change. It is very late for them to send out an email for a March 24 date and I’m hoping there is no glitch.
If I were you @annamom , if you weren’t too far away, I would go for the tour. That way you might have a chance to think about what you heard and saw in the tour and come up with good questions for Accepted Students Day.
Thanks. We are on our way to Rowan now.
@annamom Have fun and please update us with any interesting info!
And please ask about the engineering accepted students day. It would be so helpful to get those invites so we know that is the right date. The worst thing for me right now would be to have the accepted students day conflict with another important event. I really want my D to be able to go.
Just to clarify, nobody has gotten an email invite for the 3/24 date, right?
I really hope they don’t change the date, I already took off from work and rescheduled a full day of my patients!!!
Got the email today 3/24th
@toast18 e-mail invites for Admitted students day for Engineering -3/24 are being sent out. I have received mine.
Thanks @toast18 and @greatfundeals ! That’s such a relief that it’s in 3/24!
@MACmiracle Our visit was positive. As you knew by now that there is another Admitted students day, however, we did not receive an invitation probably because DD did not apply for engineering school.
@annamom Thanks!
@MACmiracle and others - Rowan just announced they received a $295,000 grant to “spur innovation and entrepreneurship in its freshman and sophomore engineering clinics”. I can’t link, but it’s through the Kern Family Foundation.
@NJWrestlingmom Thanks for the news! I really hope my D likes her visit on the 24th.
@MACmiracle Are you narrowing choices? We are seriously leaning towards Rowan. Got into UCONN engineering with $18k a year scholarship, but that still leaves our COA around $35k.
Still waiting for Stevens and WPI, but I can’t imagine any of them coming close to Rowan’s cost and overall “bang for the buck”
@NJWrestlingmom thanks for the info- another check under the pros column for Rowan!
Got into Stevens with $20k a year scholarship. That still leaves $50k COA for us to cover, which will equal a LOT of debt for my son. I feel like he’s suddenly very intrigued about the idea of attending Stevens though! I don’t think he expected such a generous scholarship amount. I hope Rowan New Admit Day does a great job of selling itself, because there’s no way I’m cosigning for those types of loans! I just don’t see it as worth it for undergrad! Any thoughts?
@toast18 I have a friend who recently visited with her S to check out Rowan engineering. They had a really wonderful tour guide who impressed them a lot. She told them she was accepted to other great schools for engineering. The money she was offered from Rowan was the best so she very reluctantly decided to the attend the Engineering Accepted Students Day. That visit completely changed her perspective and she happily matriculated. She talked to my friend about all the wonderful opportunities she’s had there.
I keep thinking I want my D to talk to a student like that!!!
My friend was very impressed with the labs and other facilities. Her S will likely be going to Rowan as part of a CC matriculation program. Through that program they have already met Rowan engineering professors and have nothing but good things to say.
Thanks @MACmiracle, I hope we have a guide like that next week too! I want him to be excited about going to Rowan Engineering!
I know a few of us went to Rowan Engineering Accepted Students Day. I’m curious who else went and if they loved it as much as we did. Those labs were amazing!
