This is for anyone with insight on Fordham rowing or any rowing at the collegiate level. I’m interested in women’s rowing at Fordham university, Fordham has a Division 1 team rather than a club. I haven’t been on a rowing team in the past but I’m very eager to learn and compete. However, being that it is a Division 1 team does that mean they don’t accept novices and prefer people with previous rowing experience? Also should I express interest before of after I get accepted into the school?
bump for mens rowing as well
Seems to me the best thing to do would be to contact the coach and ask.http://fordhamsports.com/roster.aspx?path=wrow#coaches_anchor
Contact the coach via the link that @spirit77 gave. From what I also understand, you can be a novice for a year before moving up to the varsity level. But be warned, they are up at the crack of dawn for practices on the Bronx River. I asked my daughter since she has a couple of friends on the rowing teams. But reach out to the coach for questions, you will find more concise answers from them.
