Royalty income for FAFSA and CSS as "business"? (mistake)

I realized that I may have made a mistake on my aid forms (and they’ve already been submitted). I receive book royalties and sometimes payments for reviewing others’ books (anywhere from $25-1000 per year) and also get 1099s for this work. I do include all of these in my taxes and also deduct some expenses like research materials and printing ink. Because it’s an extension of my regular professional life (and for which I get a W2) I don’t usually think of it as a business, per se. And there’s no “net worth” as far as I can tell. So I completely forgot this on FAFSA and CSS. The total income from these 1099s after deducted expenses entered on my taxes for 2016 was $14. Not really sure what to do at this point. Anyone looking at my 1040 and return transcript (both submitted) will see the information. There is a Schedule C there, too. If it means our EFC will go up by a few hundred, that’s fine. I just don’t want schools to think I’m trying to hide something or, worse, committing fraud. What should I do?

Recheck the tax forms. I think this is self employment income.

@happymomof1 I think it IS self-employment. I didn’t realize there was a difference! I’m not a business owner though, by definitions I’ve googled. So maybe I was worried for nothing.
