RPI Business School?

As a senior looking to major in finance/accounting, is RPI any good? RPI would be a reach/fit for me. I know RPI is heavily focused on engineering and sciences, but I’m not sure about the business school because there’s only 350 undergraduates and there aren’t much information on the Lally School of Management. No rankings, no forums about it.

It’s apparently good particularly in terms of tech-oriented business and math-oriented finance, playing to its strengths in STEM.

It features in a couple of rankings:

Its quant program gets good reviews (but that’s grad, not undergrad): https://www.quantnet.com/resources/rensselaer-polytechnic-institute-quantitative-finance-and-risk-analytics-program.33/

Copied and pasted from an earlier thread:

I’m an engineering major, but I do know quite a few business majors and they seem to enjoy what they’re doing. I had the opportunity to recently help out with a research project for an upper level marketing class and it seems like the business curriculum is aimed much more towards the practical application of business which is very good. A lot of students in business like in engineering do co-ops at large companies and take a semester off and continue right after that. The Lally school also offers a mandatory sequence of courses in leadership and the HASS core prepares you to be a good communicator. A lot of people say business majors are looked down on but I wouldn’t say that’s true at all, it’s more of a hidden jewel than anything else at RPI. I also know there are a lot of concentrations both traditional and techy that are offered like you can do anything from computational finance to accounting or regular management. The curriculum is very flexible. Many management major’s also get a dual degree pretty easily.

RPI is also ranked top 3 in New York State for Business and all the big companies hire from its business school. It’s also ranked #8 by the Economist for alumni who make the most out of college. Many students pursue internships in New York City with big banks. Lally also has a prestigious AACSB accreditation, which is very good. There are many student organizations for business students as well to get involved in that help in development in the local area.
