RPI Class of 2014 Admissions Decisions

lucky2010: The “little song” was the RPI fight song.

hammer123: If you applied for the BS/MD program the decision is made jointly by RPI and AMC (or at least it was in the good old days). They will probably send the decision in a joint mailing.

I was accepted, and I’m actually very surprised based on the stats I’ve read in here…

Not sure if I’ll end up going because I’m still waiting to hear for 6 other schools. This acceptance makes me feel a little bit better about my chances though.

Thanks mdbdad and dadinator.

I sent an email to the admissions office. If I don’t get a response in a few days I’ll give them a call.

I’ll post my findings.

Randwulf, since CS is in the school of science (which doesn’t require additional applications to transfer into from another department), you’d be set even if they put you down as a humanities major. Nevertheless, I highly doubt they put you in the wrong program.

Congrats :)

I just looked at my aid again and I didn’t realize that I received a $15k Rensselaer Grant in addition to my $5k Rensselaer Leadership Award. Is the grant merit-based or need-based?

that’s what it said for me too, i applied for the columbia law program. because theyre waiting on the other school, they’re just going to tell us the whole deal when the other school notifies them as well

Then in mid April I was finalizing my stuff to go to another college and I figured I’d call RPI and ask them how the waitlist was doing. Four hours later I got a phone call and an email telling me my financial aid package. In other words, if you are waitlisted and really want to go to RPI, CALL!
Also, to those of you who have been accepted, you should check out the Rusty Pipes at the Accepted Students Day, they will be singing at lunch
