You probably have as good a chance as anyone, though its hard to say given so little information. My best advice right now is just to wait out the last two weeks as best you can.

How about “pals (who get to boss people around).” It sounds (marginally) nicer
“Bosses” makes me think of a stuffy old guy in a suit sitting in an office somewhere.

“Get sleep, seriously! We do not want calls from your mentor!” (in light of recent discussion, that actually applies surprisingly well here)

@jsjratt: As I think I’ve said every time, it all looks good but there’s no way to predict. Better than my stats at the time, at least :)

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!

Guys, less than 2 weeks… :o

Sent from my SGH-T959V using CC

Who wants to make bets when the letters will come?

Let’s be frank. Letters will come out at least March 1st, and probably only about ~4 of us here in this thread will make it, if even that :3

Good luck. I’m anxious even though I shouldn’t be ‘cause I’m not gonna’ make it anyways >.>

Any chance of early results?

Last year I remember getting in on St. Patrick’s Day and I’m east coast

@iambenk, I don’t think so.

@ChrxswxN, don’t be too hard on yourself if you don’t make it in. Remember that when the letters are sent out 50 people will celebrate and about 1500 will be disapointed. I set very high standards for myself and if I don’t do meet my own goals, even if what I do achieve is exemplarary, I feel like a failier. But even I would not consider myself to have failed if I were rejected by RSI. I would be disapointed, but I would not consider myself to have failed. It may seem pessemistic to say so, but I think that the most importaint thing for all of us to remember now is that after we are rejected (and because the admission rate is near three percent, even the best of us are more likely to be rejected than to get in) we must not consider ourselves to have failed.

I read some threads of past years and rejections were sent by emails. Should we assume a similar system? I wish the results were released via our account on their website…

If the past is any indication, they should be mailing/emailing out decisions anytime in the next few business days.
Last year rejections we sent out by email a day after the acceptances/alternates were sent by physical mail.

I guess I’ll be stalking this thread then for the next week or two

Do we think letters will be sent out this week or next?

I would way that there is an even chance of either. The letters are rarely sent out as early as next week, but I’m pretty sure that they have never made the application deadline so early as January 6 in any previous year, so we can expect the letters to be sent out early.

The website says we’ll be notified by mail by the first week of March. March starts Thursday…So sadly I think it’ll probably be next week not this one

Every few minutes, I have a mini panic attack when I think about RSI decisions coming >.<
Lol I guess I’ll pray that I won’t get an email!!!

@ChrxswxN I feel the same way. There is like .01% chance of me making it considering my application…but I can’t help thinking “What if???”

You guys shouldn’t be worried. I actually know a few people who were rejected from RSI ended up getting accepted to MIT later. It’s just a summer program, guys, albeit one of the most selective in the country. But if you guys have back-up; that should be fine.

Just wondering iambenk, where on the website does it say first week of March? I can’t find anything on their website (I so bad at wwebsite as on the internet)

juniorapp, I just checked the site and I can’t locate that either. Where did that information (of response date) come from?

It says it on the application page that we had to fill out and submit.

Yep if you log back in to your account, it’s at the bottom of the page-ish. Any day now, right? Tomorrow’s March. Gulp. Good luck everyone!
