Yeah I’m inclined to say ■■■■■ too, but seriously…dafuh…

^ if this not a ■■■■■, CONGRATS!

ROOOOOOOFL ok calm down
i’ve been reading your posts these past few days and to lighten the mood , i thought i’d kid around :$

unfortunately , RSI doesn’t let canadians apply D:

Not amused -_-

@ Killzslayz : You got me. My family is crowded around the computer right now in stupor. Good job, though, it definitely did lighten the mood :3

@Killzslayz
OMG YOU TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT
i was like whhhhat they totally changed the way they were going to notify candidates again!!!
you ■■■■■!! lol

@Killzslayz : Whew, my heart definitely skipped a beat on that one…makes you realize how crazy it seems–we’re obsessing over a program that’s 6 weeks in the summer, even though the majority of us could do research another way, and for the majority of us, we’re going to get into our top college choice anyway. Then, I just thought about RSI again, and how excited I would be to go, and I realized that it’s perfectly ok to obsess over it, because it’s basically the most amazing summer program in the world.

chemMit pretty much just expressed my feelings exactly

^haha same here…i dream about RSI :)

Sent from my SGH-T959V using CC

lolololol XD nice trolling work man!

*** we could send updates?!?!?! I didn’t see that anywhere! I’m currently 1st place at the regional ISEF affiliated fair for my area. I would’ve sent that a month ago >.< well, too late now I guess

ooh man @zorn96 that reminds me my fair thing for isef is tomorrow…hahaha im screwed!! our region’s judges are parents of other competitors…

@zorn96 : Well, updates are not explicitly allowed, and I’m not totally sure it was added to my application, but I saw in previous CC threads that some people had sent in updates, so I thought it was worth a shot. At the very least, it can’t hurt.

@heygirlhey13 : 'tis the season…of science fairs. The week after next, I have the state JSHS, state SAS, and state ISEF all in one week :P

@chemMIT what’s the “SAS”?

@MedTrip : Student Academy of Science–I’ve also seen it abbreviated JAS (Junior Academy of Science). Essentially, it’s just another science fair–submit papers beforehand, then you give presentations, and judges will look at both. This is my first year doing it, so I’m not 100% sure about the format, but that’s my understanding of it.

@heygirlhey13: whoah, synopsys? bay area? what’s your project on? which school?

i’m from bell, doing a project on the whooping cough vaccine (pertussis)

@chemMIT: haha good luck to all of your science fairs!!!
this is my first science fair since the national siemens competition
i dont even think i can fit into my “formal” suit anymore…

@heygirlhey13 : Thanks! These are actually my first science fairs (excluding the regional qualifiers) since elementary school. My school organized the science fairs in elementary school, but then neither my middle school nor my former high school organized any type of science fair, and I never tried to enter any independently (one of my biggest regrets–I love science fairs). Good luck on your ISEF regional fair as well!

Can you guys suggest any other programs to apply to that have later deadlines? I had a huge list of places I was going to apply, but most of them started before final exams were over at my school so I wouldn’t be able to go to them! My last exam is June 22nd-

@jasonmanley : One thing that I’m planning to do if I don’t get into RSI is contact professors at a local university to see if they will be my mentor for summer research. My school actually has some agreements with two local universities about that, and a long history of previous students doing summer research. Since I have that, I’m all but guaranteed to find a mentor for summer research through that, so I actually didn’t look at any other summer programs besides RSI. Best of luck finding something!

I had a dream I got denied and was so mad when I woke up haha this wait is killing me…
