Hi, this is my first post on this website. I’m currently a HS junior, and I was just wondering if any previous RSI attendees would know when applications for next summer come out. Thanks.
Also, I was wondering how–since I’ll be taking the new format of the PSAT this year–they’ll view this new score. Thanks again to anyone who can reply!

I think the applications come out some time in November. And yeah, since the new PSATs are out of 1600 (?), I don’t know if they’re going to change that on the app…I might just submit my score from last year (thankfully still above a 220)
@WOLFHEART555 Do you know if we can submit both? Because last year I got 221 (80M/73W/68CR) but I’d like to have a better reading score…
From what I’ve seen of the app, it doesn’t look like there’s enough space to submit both…I might be wrong though
Might be applying this year.
Might be applying as well.
@WOLFHEART555 I’m pretty sure you can only submit the score that will also be used for National Merit.
@daman12356 So I guess I’ll have to send in this year’s score…
What grade must applicants be in for RSI?
@staticjava Rising seniors are ideal
@daman12356 : That’s an issue since PSAT scores come out pretty late this year… I wonder if RSI is up to date on Collegeboard’s latest shenanigans with the PSAT change.
So what other summer programs are you guys applying to?
lol no other, my back up is just local university research I’ve been doing since 9th grade.
I’m thinking of applying to RSI, but I also want to apply to PROMYS, SUMaC, Ross, and MathCamp. I’ve heard that RSI is a great deal harder to get into. Do you guys have experience applying to any of these other science/math/STEM programs?
@angie414 RSI is supposed to be the hardest to be admitted to and the most prestigious. Can’t vouch for the others though.
Also, does anyone know if we have to submit ALL test scores or if we can submit the ones that we want to submit?
For RSI, do you have to submit a SAT or PSAT ? I am a Canadian sophomore and have not taken any of those tests, do I have to take them to become eligible for RSI?
You can’t apply as a sophomore. You have to be a junior.
I’m planning on applying to RSI. Given how competitive it is (2-3% acceptance rate) I assume I have zero chance of getting in, but you never know
