Sorry, accidental double post
I really hope so, but I still haven’t gotten email back yet.
O my god, they gave like a grace period of 2 days o something. I didn’t even get an email back, but I was able to submit. Anyone i,my shoes shoul be able to submit now.
That’s good to hear. Good luck to everyone!
@Runkeeper I asked them before I had sent my scores, so I didn’t ask them if they received my scores. Did anyone else ask/think it’s necessary?
@Runkeeper where in the packet does it say that results will be released in late february?
@mischiefmaker I think it says it at the end, and it says by the end of February.
I’m so nervous, and have no reason to be; I mean it’s not as if I could receive anything besides a reject. Really the only strong aspect of my app was my research supervisor rec and maybe 1 essay…
how are they going to get through >1000 applications in 30 days wow
@coffeeaddicted literally same
do you guys think that a super specific research area would be bad D: i can’t stop thinking about it now! like specifically autism or something like that
@mischiefmaker from what I heard its usually better to be specific so props to you and good luck
Just to be sure, how do you check if your payment went through and everything?
@bob6500 I used GiveDirect, and I got a confirmation email that also included my transaction code.
Did you guys give your teachers any thank-you cards/gift cards/small gifts like candles after they wrote your recommendation letters?
@runkeeper mm i gave my teachers a really big christmas present so i didn’t
I just realized after reading some of my essays again that I made a small typo because of the character limit (part of a sentence that I thought was gone was not fully deleted). Do they take these kinds of things seriously, as in the applicant did not put in the time to check over their essays?
@bob6500 I would think they’d value content over grammatical correctness. As someone mentioned above they have to read >1000 applications, each with what, 6 essays? (I’ve already forgotten the number of essays lol) I doubt the typo would be a major factor in their heads.
This is the first year they’re doing online applications right? I think that’s why the decisions are so early compared to previous years
How long did everyone make their essays? Mine ranged from about 50% to 99% lol
@coffeeaddicted Are we the same person? Lol, that’s exactly what I did.
1 was the only essay that I went way over the max and had to cut down a lot. The other essays were well under the limit, partly because I wrote them kind of last minute, but also because I really just focused on saying what I had to say. They go through so many applications that if you write lots of "fluff" to fill up words, it'll probably be boring for them to read because they've read the same phrases a million times already. #3 and #4 were 3000 and 3600 words, and #5 was only 1,500 words.
^^ Really hoping these numbers are not accurate.
@Falcon1 haha looks like those should be characters, not words
