rubix cubes

Is anyone on here good at solving these? I'm really bad at it..I can get one or two sides but when I try to get more, I mess up the first two sides..so? anyone?

i learned how to solve it 2 years ago. u just basically have to memorize the steps that come in the little guide booklet thingy. i think my fastest time was under 40 seconds. u just got to practice the motions out.

^ That’s if you’re the type of person who just wants to be able to say “I can solve a Rubik’s Cube!”/show off (which, admittedly, was as far as I ever went)

There are more difficult/deeper strategies that you can learn if you want to get better times. Here is one of them:

[Rubik’s Cube Solution](Rubik's Cube Solution - Petrus Method)

Eh, I gave up on mine a loooong time ago :b It just sits on my bookshelf as decor now :)

youtube it lol but be warned, it takes a lot of time and practice. i learned how in 8th grade for the sake of my own mind’s peace. I doubt i could ever put in that much time in high school lol

When I was really little, I used to peel the squares off and switch them around to make it look like I solved it.

haha, my brother did that to one of mine before :)

I’ve solved the 2x2 version, and I have a 3x3 that I work on when I’ve got nothing else to do (which doesn’t happen since I hit my junior year of highschool). I can get all of two levels of the cube, and the 4 corners of the third, but I can’t get the last 4 middle blocks in place. I refuse to read any solution books until I have solved it myself at least once.

rubix cubes are becoming a fad on my track team. 4-5 of the underclassmen carry them around at meets…

I learned to solve mine during finals week last year, and it was addicting for a while, because if you time yourself you just wanna keep getting faster. But some time it does get old for you, because its the same algorithms.

I’ve done it a couple of times with a book. Too lazy to actually memorize the moves. Never timed myself, but I’m not at all quick.

But if I want to solve it, I prefer taking it apart

I learned how to solve it layer by layer when The Pursuit of Happiness came out lol. I can also manipulate it to make some interesting designs, like having all but the center blocks match colors on one plane of adjacent faces (two opposite sides will be complete, but all other faces will have a mismatched center color).

^^ I like people like you. lol

Lol I youtubed it xP. Trying to solve it faster now, but it’s hard when your fingers won’t move! >.< And I’m also trying the 4x4, fun! :D

ooh i can’t follow book directions. my friend taught me. layer by layer.

I learned from some Asian guy on rubikscube.com or something. It is pretty fun. When you do it in school everyone oohs and aahs because they don’t know how easy it actually is. muahahah

My friend learned how to do the rubix cube. It took him four hours to solve it after going through the tutorial. The second time he “solved” it, he accidentally broke it apart while solving it and put it back together.

After a week or two, he taught me how to solve it. Yeah, it was fail because I wasn’t taking it seriously and so I was slow in solving it.

meh. My time isn’t THAT good… I learned how to solve one over the summer. I did buy a 4x4 and i know how to solve it, but the parity issues are really annoying. I’m planning to get a 5x5 soon.

Rubix Cubes are so ridonculous. :</p>

There’s a guy in one of my classes who can literally solve one in about ten seconds. Meanwhile, I can’t even solve one in ten hours.
