Here’s a Zwift ride.
I’ve scheduled group rides on Thursday and Friday. Having so much fun.
32.4 miles on the bike today. 1900 feet of uphill elevation, too. Three women and three men started the event. Only one other woman and I finished it.
Good job on the Zwift ride! I went for a long walk today.
The weather was lovely, and I realized “wow - I could have taken my bike outside today”. Yay for spring! Alas, this is Colorado so the snow may or may not be done.
Took the bike for a spin today. (Thank you nice hubby for pumping put the tires.). It was close to 6pm by the time I got out, did only 3miles round trip to the local lake. Soon I’ll work my way up to taking a lap (3.5miles) too. All flat and easy.
I came home say, “this is the kind of sunny day that makes you ask ‘where could we live with weather like this all year long?’ “. Without loosing a beat, hubby recommended “Hawaii”.
There is no definitive answer as it all depends on personal preferences and needs. Some may prefer skating because it burns more calories, while others appreciate walking because the activity is so easy.
Wednesday - sunny and in the 80s. Friday - snowing on and off all day, with a bit of rain too. It’s what we refer to as “Springtime in the Rockies.” I might get in one more day of skiing - we’ll see.
Dad is in NY, and my weather app said it was 90 degrees there - Oh My!
What season is it in your neck of the woods?
Portland had a record high today, 79. It’s going to get down to freezing a few nights from now.
82 Wednesday, 32 tonight with possible snow. Rockies.
It was 97.5 at my house yesterday (northern CT). But dry, dry, dry…with dew points around 50. Starting to return to more seasonable temps today.
You won’t find me complaining, I love summer heat!
Gosh, I’m ready for spring but not sure how I’d feel about 97 degrees.
“Springtime in the Rockies” continues. Sat morn a bit of snow on the ground, then up to 50s. Sun 60s - yay, rode to the local lake trail and went around TWO times (all flat, only 10 miles total… but I am sore). The dirt parts of the trail were totally dry.
The sunshine lifted my spirits (after it came out stronger and got warmer - relearning which layers to wear for cycling). But the most fun thing was seeing families out strolling, hearing laughter of the kiddos running in the park.
As someone who has struggled with exercising in the heat, I read the article below with interest (gift link). Not sure I’ll be trying it, but you never know!
Interesting article.
Yesterday I ran in 50s temp and increasingly viscous winds (the bike ride home was quicker than usual due to dark clouds; rain never came). Back home in the shower I thought, “I like the running. I love the hot shower after back home.”
Ha, maybe I should do that before I go on the trip with my dad and sister to Savannah in bleeping July.
Is there a certain weight they have to push in the stroller for it to count as a world record?
I have not seen details on the weight requirement. In her case, kids was 29 lb and stroller 28.5lb.

Weather has cooled a bit, and allergies (controlled by OTC meds) not keeping me inside as much. I’m back to walking more and took a bike ride. Still not sure if I’ll run because I had some mild shin discomfort - ironically when not running. Have a big trip in a month.
Who else is taking advantage of the cooler mornings?
We are having cooler weather/mornings right now but the 90’s are headed back later this weekend/next week. Trouble is, while still working, the mornings are getting darker again. I am still doing 3+ miles of something each day including the pup walk. Other than that we are preparing for a house move in October that has us running ragged every spare moment. Lots of physical AND mental workouts!
editing to say I was thinking this was the other exercise thread…still running some and walking LOTS.
With cool weather, hoping to get somebody into a good new walk or walk/run routine… like maybe ME.
