I'm hoping to run a 4:40 mile by the end of this year (aka nowhere even close for varsity running), so I was just curious of the other running opportunities available. I know running clubs tend to run farther distances, like 10K or 10 mile races, but any information would be great. I ran a 18:30 5K in October, but my PR for the mile then was about 5:00 so I hoped it would be a bit better now. Am I too slow? Just right?

I don’t know much specifically about running clubs, but you can find a comprehensive list of student organizations here: [stars.umd.edu[/url]

Most clubs at MD cater to all experience levels, from beginners up.

I don’t know about the running club specifically, but Terp Runners is the one I’ve heard of…

There are also actually running CLASSES which would be a great easy A haha. They have beginner, intermediate, and advanced ones in fact. You might be a bit too awesome for those though :).

Im in terp runners, its a pretty good group with some really fast members and some slow ones like me. We do a few races and you get a nice subsidized price :)
