running out of options for majors, Economics major ok for finance/accounting jobs?

Im currently a junior at Michigan State University and my ideal jobs would be a management consultant, accountant or anything involving managing money. I recently received a 3.4 this semester and that means I don't have a good shot at the business school here.. which includes the accounting program. If i don't get into the business school then econ is my backup. Is econ a good alternative? will i find any finance jobs? could i become a management consultant/accountant/or anything with a good salary that involves managing money?? Thank you!

Econ is a good major for consulting, but don’t assume that you will get a good job with a good salary just based on your major. Do internships and spend a lot of time junior and senior year working on your interviewing skills and resume.
