running scholarship or helping you get in?

If i want to attend say duke but my grades are a 4.4 and the accepting gpa is 4.6 but my sat is a 2280 and i have great exc. like eagle scout and forming my own club for haiti that raised almost 1200 dollars. Will running their only help me get in if i'm heavily recruited or will i also be eligible for a scholarship there? Thanks for the help!

Duke (and every other fully funded D1 track program) has 12.6 mens track scholarships to cover the whole roster (track and XC). Maybe 3 scholarships are available each year…if you are one of the top guys in the country (sub 4:10 1600m) you might get some athletic money.
If you’re a little slower than that, it can help you get in but no athletic $. Merit money is almost always better, anyway. What do you mean by “accepting GPA is 4.6”?

Oh that makes sense, thanks and i mean on Naviance, the website my high school showed all of us that provides approximate gpa’s that you need to get in.
