I want to study Russian and major in it. Will this help me get in places or only discourage them??
Neither. Hundreds of universities and colleges in the US offer majors/concentrations in Russian. It’s not exotic enough a major to give you a “hook,” and certainly not controversial (if that’s what you’re worried about) to create problems for you.
