People on this forum keep saying that you need to have all the pre-reqs done to get accepted in the business school. I even had someone at the visitors center in the New Brunswick campus repeat this.

But if you look on the site Admissions | Rutgers Business School under transfers you see this.
"To be eligible, students must have completed a Rutgers-New Brunswick equivalent to 01:640:115 pre-calculus and the equivalent of two of the six course eligibility requirements by the end of the spring 2012 semester. "

Is there a reason why people keep saying otherwise?

i think what they mean is that to start taking business classes that count towards your intended major, you need to complete all 6 pre-reqs (Micro, Macro, Calc I, Comp Apps for Business, Stat for Business, and Intro to Financial Accounting). I am a freshman and by the end of this spring semester i will have completed all but accounting (which you are not allowed to take until the fall semester of your sophomore year aka 3rd semester). I am in the business school, but until i finish all the pre-reqs i’m not allowed to take classes that count towards my major (which is finance at the moment).

In essence, you can be in the business school as long as you have the reqs you listed in your post, but you cannot take any business school courses until you finish all 6 pre-reqs. hope that helped

if you are applying directly out of high school, you can get accepted into the business school immediately. But before you are able to declare a major and subsequently take classes that deal directly with that major, you must complete the 6 pre req classes listed above by the other poster.

The excerpt that you copied and pasted is referencing students that are TRANSFERRING into the rutgers business school. In this case, you must have completed pre calculus and two of the six courses that Rutgers requires. You should definitely check if the two courses are considered equivalent and therefore transferable to Rutgers.
