I received an acceptance from New Brunswick on Jan 8, regular decision. The decision arrived way sooner than I imagined. I am also attending the HLLC interview today!
If it helps to get an idea of the qualification they are looking for, this is what I had:
-SAT: 1280
-GPA: 3.7/4.0
-Clubs, Extra cirricular: Marketing club, Feminists Clubs, Student government, Tennis varsity, Volleyball varsity, and Handball varsity.
@senior3 Were you already accepted into the Honors College ? How did you get notification for an interview ?
I recieved an email. I haven’t been accepted to the honors program yet, I am just attending the interview for now.
@kelseyc8 I got an acceptance from New Brunswick on Jan 8th or 7th I believe. I did regular decision as well, surprised as to how it came so early but good luck!
Hey does anyone know when financial aid comes out? Or has anyone already received anything?
This link works for 2017-2018. I do not know if awards for New Brunswick have been made yet, but this is the right place for it to show up when they are made My son’s Camden award is listed. We received that in the mail 12/24. He probably also got an email - but did not read it. For NB, SAS is listed and says no scholarship. I do not know if this is a final decision posted or if they have not updated it and that is the default. I am not expecting him to get Merit for NB, but someone who thinks they qualify can check the link. https://studentaid.rutgers.edu/scholarship/
@Njmom224 that link says “Academic Year 2016 - 2017” right at the top… perhaps Camden came out first, but when we tried to login there for NB, it’s says nothing found for record and check back in Feb.

This is the portal to check for aide according to email recently received.
Sorry for the confusion. I got this link from a prior post. This link is merit scholarship and honors. I do not think it would be for any need based awards. This link does say 2016-2017, but when I logged on it has the info for 2017-2018 and is populated for his Camden award.
Anyone in here gets accepted to Camden- Honor College, automatically without apply?
@Njmom224 So, the link you posted is merit scholarship, and we also get separate need-based awards?
i just was able to check the link that @mykidscheer posted above. @chaoz my D got accepted to the honors college with a scholarship, and also listed was the leadership program, also with a scholarship. she did not apply for either of these programs. The way the award letters read, she would only be able to accept one award. Interesting to note: She did not receive an email with the scholarship link, and she was accepted weeks ago.
Chaoz, Answer to the first question is yes my son was invited to Camden - Honors and the Leadership Institute. Applied regular application 12/1. Accepted to Camden 12/5 and NB 12/15ish. In progress for Ernest Mario Pharmacy. Received Camden Honors info 12/24. He wants to go to NB so will not be accepting Camden. I suspect there will be no Merit for NB. The scholarship Merit awards are not need based so they have nothing to do with the FAFSA. If you file the FAFSA and qualify for need aid, you will receive separate information. The Merit aid should be considered in the need aid. For example, if your total cost is 30K and your EFC is 25K you would be eligible for a max of $5k in need. If you got $8k Merit you will not get any more aid. If you got $2k Merit you could get up to 3k more in need. You can receive merit aid even if you have no demonstrated need and would otherwise be full pay. The advantage to merit even if you have high need is that the Merit aid is all scholarship. Need aid could be grants, loans, work-study etc. Rutgers does not give out as much merit as most of the private schools, but of course the price-tag is lower.
@mommabear67 Congrats! was that at Camden or NB?
at Camden…no merit from NB
@mommabear67 congratulations!
I just happened to check my daughters emails yesterday . The email from rutgers went into her promotions folder on her Gmail account… it was like a newsletter with different links …and that financial aide one was listed… she was accepted to NB but 17-18 doesn’t show up for her to check status of aide or merit yet
yeah, i’m not seeing the aide yet either…i actually was looking at the planning letter from the link that @Njmom224 posted, which only shows the scholarships
i can’t stand seeing the words in process any longer
@Njmom224 I see, thank you for the explanation.
Has anyone ever completed the net cost calculator on the rutgers page?
Did it seem correct?
