I thought it might be a good idea for the people who have been wait listed since it’ll keep things separated and organized from the other thread.
What are the chances of being accepted after getting into the wait list?
It all depends on your grades, how many people are on the list, what school you’re waiting for, and how many people decline their offers.
my son was waitlisted at NB but accepted at Newark, he updated & submitted his midterm grades yesterday so hopefully we hear from admissions sooner than later.
@sambadee Yeah, I submitted my mid-year grades too. What NB school was he waitlisted from?
Just like most, NB CAS was his top choice but he was wait listed at NB CAS…how about you?
I’ve seen previous threads from last year, I think that we won’t be hearing from admissions till after May. That’s really a long wait…
but if it’s not meant to be at NB we have to look at it at the brighter side…it will be alright, he won’t have the real college campus life though cause he’ll be a commuter at the Newark campus for the College of arts and Sciences but he gets to save money to be used for graduate school instead.
I’ve always been a believer that everything happens for a reason, everything will work out for everyone in the end, it always does…
@sambadee I was waitlisted from NB SAS, too. We will hear by May, but we could hear before that too from what I saw, but I don’t really know.
@brokebrowngirl it’s great to get to think they will release their decisions of waitlist applicants before May, that will be wonderful for everyone waiting.
But hopefully you have other alternative plans just in case. Did you apply to other schools too?
Has anybody called, visited or emailed the admissions office since you got waitlisted or have you been accepted yet?
@brokebrowngirl -Have you called, visited or emailed the admissions office since you got waitlisted or have you been accepted yet?
I GOT IN TO ENGINEERING OFF THE WAITLIST!!!
CONGRATS!! @chansu99
I haven’t done so yet, but I will very soon! I got super busy and it slipped my mind.
Thanks a lot @brokebrowngirl ! I hope you get in to SAS!
Rutgers requested my 7th semester grades on 1/24, and after submitting them I was accepted into both SAS and SEBS on 2/24!!! OOS resident from Texas
Does being put on the wait list put you at a disadvantage for housing if you get accepted?
@12345college Yes, it does a bit. You might not get you’re first choice of housing, but I’m sure you will find housing regardless.
Do they usually have a lot of seats available for people on the waitlist at NB SAS?
I’m not too sure about that. I guess it depends on the year. @12345college
Just curious, what is the point in Rutgers sending decision for the wait listed after May 1st? May 1st is the due date for all the colleges to accept the offer. Once contract is signed you cannot cancel the contract. So how someone go to Rutgers if the decide to offer after May 1st unless not accepted to any other colleges?
You would need to accept an offer and make a deposit at a different college before May 1st. If you then get accepted off the Rutgers wait list (and still want attend Rutgers) you would forfeit the deposit at the other school. So you need to be willing to lose your deposit…
