:)

My son got accepted today - applied on 11-04-11 to SAS and Business
Stats:
Class rank - 37/386 (top 10%)
GPA - 3.7 unweighted, 4.0 weighted
SAT - 1370/1600 and 1990/2400
National Honor Society, comm service, several clubs at school

Applied late october, got into SAS last week, and got into engineering today!

^ What’s your stats?

I got an email saying I was accepted to the School of Engineering on 11/9 (applied 10/31), though I haven’t received anything in the mail yet. And I’m still waiting for Pharmacy (my first choice) and Nursing, though. . .

Rutgers doesn’t do acceptances through the mail anymore… it’s only through that website

Oh wow, really? I didn’t know that. XD Thank you!

I would add one caveat to the above post…I received my acceptance to SAS through the website, however my acceptance into the SAS Honors Program was through the regular mail and was sent a few weeks after my initial acceptance.

That’s because that is not a school at Rutgers. You receive acceptances about the different schools through online only which is Business, SAS, engineering, nursing, etc.

I agree. I guess my point was that you are accepted to the specific school first through the website, in my case SAS, and notified by regular mail if accepted into the Honors Program. Someone else had asked me previously how I knew that I was in the Honors Program.

Accepted to NB SAS, 11/9, applied 10/30.
SAT: 2000, 640 CR, 710 M, 650 W
GPA: 3.47
rank: 93/447
EC’s: average, a sport and some volunteer work

How long does it take for the honors program notifications to be sent out?

@runningdancer

I have similar stats:
93 weighted
1710 SAT
Top 13% of Class
Rank 51/390

I just applied yesterday for SAS, Business School, Nursing

What are my chances?

@c0ldplay

You should get into SAS without any problem with the stats you have.

Rutgers SAS Average Acceptance for Fall 2011
SAT: 1710-2000
GPA: 3.5-4.0 (weighted)
Rank: Top 5-24%
You meet all the requirements for SAS.

Nursing in NB is really competitive however because it is such a small program. You normally do not here about nursing until January, but you should hear about SAS before that. To be honest, the likelihood of either of us getting into the NB Nursing program is not in our favor, however that does not mean it’s totally out. Also, Rutgers will send your application to Newark and Camden where it is a larger program and you have a higher chance of getting in. This does not mean you have to attend there, you can still choose to go to NB if you’re accepted to SAS or the Business school.

Rutgers NB Nursing Average Acceptance for Fall 2011
SAT: 1870-2040
GPA: 3.8-4.1 (weighted)
Rank: Top 3-10%
Unfortunately, you only have the GPA. That’s why it’s really going to be difficult for you, and even me to be accepted into this program.

The business school at Rutgers is also very competitive. My sister was accepted to that program two years ago with the following stats:
GPA: 4.0 (weighted) 3.7 (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale
SAT: 1970
Top 10%
27/390

Rutger’s Business Average Acceptance Fall 2011
SAT: 1860-2090
GPA: 3.6-4.0 (weighted)
Class Rank: Top 5-15%
With what Rutgers gave, you meet 2/3 requirements for the Business School. It’s never a definite yes or no with Rutgers, so I can’t say what your chances are but you’re on the border.

I hope this helps some! Best of luck with all your college applications!

I’m sorry I don’t have an exact time frame. I applied in late September (I don’t remember the exact date) and I was accepted a week or so later. My letter of acceptance to the honors program was dated November 3rd. It took approximately one month to receive the letter after I received my acceptance into SAS. Hope this helps!

^yeah it does. Thanks!

You’re welcome!

this is not for me…but for a friend

whats the general acceptance stats for SEBs?

SEBS is about the same as SAS. There’s an earlier post that shows those stats.
