I have been admitted to my state school, Rutgers New Brunswick. I have also been admitted to the University of San Francisco. I want to study Media Broadcasting but I am having trouble deciding where to enroll.

Rutgers has given me practically no financial aid, just work study and loans. USF has given me a pretty generous package. At this point, USF is the cheaper school for me. However, it is very far away from home and I have never visited the school. I have visited Rutgers though, and I loved it.
Should I go to Rutgers for about $2000 more a year or go to USF, a lower ranked school that I haven't seen? Which is a better descision?

If its just 2000 a year, then I'd go with Rutgers. You wouldn't want to enroll at a school you've never really experienced... Those 2k dollars may be worth it. If you go to a school across the country, you'll be paying for airfare, etc.

So I guess go with the school that you feel better with. It would be better if you had visited USF before, but if you can't, then get as many opinions as you can. A few video tours won't hurt. Talk with current students, etc.

If Rutgers is a higher ranked school, then that's also a pro favoring Rutgers.

Anywho, good luck with your decision!!

Honestly I'm an out of state student, and with plane tickets and other out of state inconviences I would go to Rutgers if I were you.

i have a friend who was in the same position. She chose to go to cali school instead of rutgers. She actually enjoys it a lot. its a new experience and she became more independent and what not.

Rutgers has a special housing option for their RU-TV network which might be something you want to look in to. I know a girl from my high school who went there and from what she said about it, it definitely sounds like a worthwhile thing.

Plus, living across the country is hard. I'm just three hours from home right now and it's hard. I can't take my laundry home, can't go home on weekends, can't go home for birthdays or special events... these are all things to consider.
