Rutgers MG Waitlist: Details, Chances?

A dear friend of my daughter's is waitlisted at MG and has not had any other good news yet. Does anyone know how large the list is, if it is ranked, the percentage that usually matriculate from the waitlist?

It is not ranked, last year it seems nobody made it off the waitlist. Although, in years past people have. Also wait listed over here.

I’m not sure how many are on the waitlist.

I actually heard a lot of people made it off the waitlist last year or they just accepted a lot more then they thought would accept the offer. My D was registered to go to MG last year but ended up at another school. She knew of quite a few students who were accepted that ended up elsewhere and she said she did not remember from callbacks some of the students that did end up going, so I believe there were quite a few off the waitlist. Don’t count it out!

That info is probably more correct than mine! Mine is from previous posts on the boards so it might not be solid info. Just relaying what I have heard.

Argh, this whole waitlist process is a roller coaster, been hearing one thing one week that gets my hopes up and one that sinks it the next week and it just keeps going on. Oy, it’s crazy.

My D is on the waitlist also. She called to ask them how many are on the waitlist, and they couldn’t tell her, and they also said it’s not ranked. I guess it depends on who chooses to go there and who doesn’t.

Just remember there are a decent amount of good programs out there and there are people that get accepted to a few of them and cannot go to all. So therefore, there opens some waitlist spots!!! Last year my D was waitlisted at Juilliard and was devastated!!! She went to London for her callbacks and absolutely loved it and was accepted. The waitlist status then at Juilliard didn’t hurt so bad, and when Juilliard called her to discuss her waitlist status and whether she would consider coming back next year, she told them she decided on another path. Now at LAMDA, she could not be happier with her decision. I truly think you end up in the long run where you belong! Make the best of anything and visit, visit, visit the school, take classes before making a decision.

Yes, a good chunk of last years class were on the wait list before being admitted.
