Rutgers NB or University of Maryland?

I know a lot of people have been doing these "this college or that" posts, but none of them touched on UMD, and since a lot of people choose to go to UMD from NJ I'd just like to get everyone's opinion on this one.

Wherever I go I'm majoring in kinesiology (or exercise science) in order to get an undergrad degree and then go to grad school to get my Doctor of Physical Therapy. Both Maryland and Rutgers have undergrad programs that would give me great exposure to the courses I'd be taking in grad school for the DPT, but I'm just wondering if undergrad even matters when it concerns getting into a good physical therapy school.

Furthermore, I'm from NJ myself and so my family's urging me to go to Rutgers, but my main concern is not being exposed to new people. I know everyone always says that it shouldn't matter because you probably won't see your old high school classmates, but it still worries me. The only other thing that's keeping me from committing to Rutgers right now is that I'd afraid I'd be compromising my education. I mean that may sound a like little too much, and I know UMD and Rutgers are pretty much comprable, but I don't want to go to Rutgers thinking all those "what-ifs" that would concern UMD.

Thanks for any responses!

Just pick one of the colleges that you want to go to. I mean both are great school, nonetheless. I’m actually from NJ too and I applied to RU and UMD. I just found out that I got accepted to UMD, last night.

I picked Rutgers over UMD, it’s just because it will save me more money . Don’t get me wrong though, If I didn’t get accepted to the Rutgers Business school, I would’ve probably gone to UMD.

Good luck,
Nic

Money would be my biggest concern, especially if I was thinking of grad school. All the aid and scholarships only last for 4 years and many of those are only provided if you stay in-state. Also, I made lots of new friends here, even though many of my high school friends came here. It really depended on my major and my involvement in student organizations though.
