I'm going to be a freshman this upcoming fall and I got into both Rutgers New Brunswick and Rutgers Newark Honors College, but I'm having a tough time deciding on which one to go with.
The thing about New Brunswick is that it has a more traditional college feel because more people live on campus and it is the largest of Rutgers campuses. The also have the major I'm specifically interested in, which is Neuroscience.
Newark, on the other hand, offered me to be in their Honors College which also gives me $2,000 more than New Brunswick. But on the down side, they do not offer Neuroscience as a major and most people commute.
I'm going to be living on campus no matter which one I choose, and the price difference is not too much. If anyone of you go to Rutgers, can I have some insight on which one I should choose? Is the Honors College at Newark worth it?

Rutgers New Brunswick is the main campus and thats where most of the research happens. Also Rutgers New Brunswick is credited more than other campuses as its much harder to get into school in New Brunswick than Newark or Camden. If I were in your place I would go to New Brunswick because its a HUGE campus and it is a live campus and it carries your major.

No question at all Rutgers NB all the way. My nephew goes there and the two campuses don’t compare. Plus, Newark does not have your major. Why change you future over a paltry $2,000? Even if that adds up to $8,000 over 4 years it basically means that you are giving up your major for the price of a used car. In the long run, you’ll be better off with a degree in your major of choice. Commuting will only take precious study time away and potentially impact your grades.
