Trying to decide between Udel and Rutgers. I like Udel and planned to go there but Rutgers will cost so much less. How do the 2 schools compare as far as job possibilities after graduation, student life? Thanks

My son had to make the same decision and chose Rutgers because it was about 12K per year cheaper after scholarships. He really liked UDel but thought it was not worth the price difference.
I think the schools are similar academically but Rutgers might have an advantage of being close to NYC (for internships and job opportunities). Socially I think either school offers opportunities if you take advantage of them.
In the end he felt he could be happy at Rutgers and chose to save the money.

My son spent his first two years at UD and then transferred to Rutgers. Money was not a factor in his decision.

Udel is nothing amazing, honestly. If you’re pursuing Chemical Engineering Udel would be an excellent choice, but otherwise Rutgers would be the wisest choice.

I applied to both and even spent 4 weeks at Udel.

Well, I would still say that UD is a wonderful school. It is a beautiful campus and has a lot to offer. My son had to transfer because they significantly downsized the concentration in his major. While I like Rutgers, I really liked walking around the UD campus and Main Street. Only you can say which school you prefer and whether or not you can afford it. Good luck in figuring it all out!
