Hello, I am currently a high school junior. Here is my info:

Sats: 1860
Reading: 630
Math: 650
Writing: 580

AP's:
US History (5)
English Language and Compostition (4)
GPA: 4.2

Class rank: 12/427
I am currently enrolled in AP classes, have recieved A's. Have taken, Honors Bio, Honors Chem, AP English, AP US history, Algebra 2, Precal

Will be taking:
AP Calc AB, AP Bio, Honors English, Peer leadership, Physics

I have served as student council sophomore executive, secretary, and am now serving as President (4 years). Member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society(2 years), and numerous clubs. Black belt in taekwondo, boy scout(8 years), lifeguard(2 1/2 years).Varsity Swimmer/captain (4 years), private swim team/captain (3 years)

I have swam in numerous charity swims for foundations such as SMA, National Lynphoma Assoc, St Jude, "Im too Young for This", and have spent many hours on community service projects while involved in boy scouts, confirmation, and National Honor Society.

My brother is entering his 5th year in this program ( not sure if having a family member in may help?), and am wondering what my chances in Rutgers Pharmacy program may be. Thanks!

I am also a hispanic/white male from central nj. Chances?!

You stand well above most Rutgers appliers, good SAT, nice rank, slightly above average ECs; i think you will get in.

Why not compare your brother’s resume/scores/ECs with your’s? That should suffice in displaying what you lack and don’t lack since he got in

My brother had a significantly higher SAT:
CR: 700
M:700
W:710

However, his EC’s do not compare that well to mine. He was a boyscout for 8 years and recieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and was a wrester for 4 years, (varsity senior yr). He was an average student, only a couple of APs (5 on bio, 5 on us), and about 30/400. Not sure of his GPA

It was lower than mine, probably about 3.9 - 4.0ish.

His SAT scores are greater than your’s but your ECs make up for it.

I am retaking my SAT’s in October, so hopefully with a higher score and my EC’s I will be able to make it in. What do you think?

I’d say you have a decent chance. I actually have a friend who applied to a couple of pharmacy programs – Northeastern and Rutgers – and who got into both, with stats that were comparable to yours. He had a 31 on the ACT, but a low GPA (I think it was around a 3.3). Your ECs are quite a bit stronger than his were, too. Best of luck with the applications.

I just got back from a college visit to Rutgers New Brunswick today and the man said that the Pharmacy program likes at least mid 650s - 700s on each section. BUT he also said that if your scores aren’t up to par, then your grades/EC will be taken into greater account, along with rank, especially.

So basically, If I score around the same, my high gpa/rank/ec’s will help me, so I have a strong chance?

Basically. The guy there said that when they look at your apps/scores/ECs/grades they separate you into High and Low, the High scorers/great ones will get in; the Low scorers/not so great will not get in; The middle is where they really have to evaluate everything and go over it.

Also! Your essay has to be stellar!

You’re pretty much in if you hit 2000-2100, in my opinion. If you really want to seal the deal, hit 2200

I believe that I read on the website that there was no essay?

can anyone else do more chances?

Isn’t the essay optional? I don’t know, someone I know applied so I don’t remember anymore

bump bump!

bump???

“No personal statements, letters of recommendation, or essays are required.” Off the Rutgers site, any more chances?

anyoneee???
