Hey guys… Im from NJ… and decided to go to school in georgia… Georgia tech… well anyways im going for engineering and if you know anything about the school… everyone knows that theres no grade inflation… anyways in high school I took almost all honors or AP classes and got a 680 (1800 total) on my math section of the sats and had a 3.4 gpa… but in college i hate my major so i have 2.6. I decided that I really wanted to come home and go to rutgers after the application deadline so i applied in feb 1st to the college of engineering i figured they would be more likely to accept me coming from a place like Georgia tech then to the college of arts and sciences and to the pharmacy college… I know its SO tough to get in especially hearing everyones stories… what do you think my chances are…

i didnt get into the school of engineering with a 3.6 from my college but I got into school of arts and sciences and biological and environmental engineering

Still Waiting for my decision :(

so… how competitive was transfer selection this year? i feel like i’ve been admitted way too early… lol as weird as that sounds, I heard in early-February… i wonder what that means… hmmm

any suggestions?

Accepted!!!

I just checked my status now and it says that I’m admitted to all three schools (SAS new brunswick, School of Environmental and Biological Sciences NB, and Newark College of Arts and Sciences).

Good luck to everyone!

Congrats Kookie1,

Admission to Rutgers - School of Engg. (SoE) is really competitive. My friend with 3.96 got rejection letter as she applied after the deadline date. Well, she got accepted into School of Arts and Sciences. To get into SoE, one should have at least a college GPA of 3.60 or higher and the person should apply before the deadline. Also, good community service, and extracurricular activities help a lot! You are transferring from a great engineering institution that may benefit you. Think Positive! And, you will get in. Good Luck, dear!

I think transfer admissions were quite competitive this year. Many of my smart friends got rejected, and some are still In Process. May be, economy played its role. Most students in this economy would choose the state university especially Rutgers. Its Public Ivy, afterall. Ivy League fashioned education with public institution cost. Rutgers is a great school!

Kookie1

CONGRATSSS!!! You must be relieved after waiting like forevaaas’… LO L
This blog was very useful throughout the admission procedure, and it will still be helpful for further queries like financial aid qs, orientation, n all. I hope to meet you all at Rutgers NB as we all are starting from next FALL. BTW, when did you apply for Rutgers?? Because, my friend applied on 13th Jan, and he is still waiting :(:(… Anyways, celebrate your success… Once again, CONGRATSSS!!!

jogirl223 AND magent311

You will be into this great institution SHORTLY. Good Luck!

YAY kookie!! I’m so happy for you! Congrats!
I knew you would find out soon!

Thanks zacky!

You’re right, this blog is really helpful, which provides a lot of useful tips and information!

I applied on Jan 15th and they received my college transcript by mid Feb. Since your friend applied on the 13th Jan he should get his decision very soon!
I hope to meet everyone at Rutgers next fall!!!

Good luck!

Thanks a lot thatsthekey!!
Hope to meet you next fall :)

Anyone is got into Rutgers College of Nursing for Nursing Program?

I got waitlisted for the nursing program and the chances are pretty slim for me so I’ll probably be in SAS and try to transfer again next year :-/

Hi everyone,

I’m a little confused between which school to enroll in. Since I was admitted to all of them. Which is better for Biological Science major, SAS new brunswick or School of Environmental and Biological Sciences.

Any suggestions?

Kookie1

It is upto you. If your major is Biological Sciences, I would recommend you strongly for the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences (SEBS). SAS enrolls 19000 something students each year whereas SEBS enrolls only 2500 every year. Only selected students get acceptance from SEBS. Also, your major is related to Biological Sciences, I would suggest you for SEBS. SEBS is one of the best schools among Rutgers - NB. Good Luck!

kookie, i checked their website, they said that SAS is for medical sciences and SEBS is for environmental sciences… like ecology and so forth…

i had to make the same decision.

“SAS offers majors that focus on biology and its application to biomedicine, while SEBS offers majors that focus on the biological sciences as applied to the natural world.”
