Rutgers Transfer Situation/Possibilities

I am currently a high school senior. I recently got accepted into NJIT for chemical engineering. However, I am having second thoughts. I've had a change of heart and I would rather pursue engineering at Rutgers New Brunswick. I would like to transfer into RU but I am not sure how I should go about this.
Option 1: Go to NJIT for 1 year then attempt to transfer to RU NB
Option 2: Middlesex County College than attempt to transfer into RU NB SoE
Option 3: Same as option 2 but transfer to RU NB SAS then change majors into engineering
Option 4: Stick it out at NJIT for all 4 years.

Which would be my best option?

Did you apply to Rutgers?

I did but I only applied to engineering and i did not get in, stupid on my part.

Can you still apply to SAS?

“Students may apply after due dates have passed. However, students who apply after the due dates or whose files remain incomplete after due dates for credentials submission have passed will be withdrawn from admissions consideration if their school(s) of application meet enrollment goals before University Undergraduate Admissions reviews their applications.”

I would call Admissions and ask if you can still enroll in SAS. They have all your info already so it’s worth a shot.

Instant Decision Days should be coming up soon. Try sending in an application and/or going to one of the instant decision days. That’s how I got in when I transferred.

Im still a HS senior so Im not able to transfer

I never noticed that, thank you I will try that as soon as possible.

My son’s friend applied to the business school and got rejected. He regreted not applying to the other schools b/c he really wants to go to Rutgers. His counselor recommended he calls admissions. I would call if I were you and see what they say. Good luck!!

If none of these work, would it be better to transfer from MCC to RU or NJIT to RU?

stayygold I think that is a personal decision. The important thing would be to do extremely well in all of your classes. I would do as others have suggested and call admissions regarding your specific problem.
