Rutgers University Class of 2025 Discussion Thread

hopefully we will be hearing back this week!

I donā€™t think most of the students that were accepted will make a decision to accept or decline until the deadline which is I believe may 1 for most schools. This is hard on my mental state.

They donā€™t give a lot to instate residents, my 19 year old was offered $5000 a year 2 years ago, her sister has very similar stats. My son will get nothing. Sheā€™s still waiting on Pitt, Clemson, UCONN, James Madison, Elon, Tulaneā€¦ No decisions can be made until we do the math. My oldest is a Rutgers alum.

Did she apply for Early action? I got in to upitt for nursing but no merit. This was back in early November when I got mine.

While in theory pulling an application leads many to believe it will open up spots for others that generally does not actually come into play until a school is working off of a wait list.

Schools accept way more than will enroll. For every one withdrawn application prior to May they simply do not then swap one for one.

With Covid still out there I donā€™t know of any nj senior withdrawing their Rutgers acceptance so quickly even if theyā€™ve got their heart and commitment set on elsewhere. Just the reality of now.

i havent heard anything regarding merit aid for pitt either, assuming I didnā€™t get anything

Yes, auto admit to the MBA program but no mention of merit. The other merit offers she received with EA were what we were expecting (based on my older kids).

Rutgers is the only in state school she applied to (besides Seton hall, my kids have to apply to a commuter school just in case). Before covid she said no way to staying I state, but times have changed.

The earliest decision I got was from Seton Hall with a lot of merit but its still expensive to attend. Good luck and hold strong!!!

I think by now I should of gotten something from Pitt but who knows. Seton hall was the earliest school to give me a decision and merit. Good Luck and hold strong!

Has anyone heard of any rejections/deferrals/waitlists received by the people who have got their decisions?

Same, very quick. My son got his at instant decision day virtually at school, which was after she was accepted.

absolutely, seton hall gave some good merit to me!

I applied Dec 1. Does anyone know when the next batch comes out?

D received an email this afternoon from RU-NB titled ā€˜When to expect an admissions decisionā€™. Basically says by Feb. 15 but wondering if anyone else got the same email?

D received same email this afternoon.

Did anyone receive Rutgers mask in the mail? D received it last Tuesday (Jan 19th). The portal still says In Progress for SAS and RBS.

did you guys apply early action? I didnā€™t get one for regular decision.

yes, i got an email and applied early action
