s it okay to transfer from a four year university to community college?

Here’s my situation. Please bear with me.
So I am heading into my third year of college at a four year university. From the beginning I wasn’t too thrilled with my school and I was considering changing my major, Sociology from the beginning as well.
My second year I spoke to my Academic Advisor about switching from Sociology to Business. I had to petition to take a course for only one time. During the time I took this course I was going through some problems back home and some personal issues arose. I didn’t pass the class (but got credit) and like that I was unable to take Business.
Now, my advisor simply kept telling me I couldn’t do it without any alternatives or anything, and instead told me to look at other majors within the Social Science department I myself did not fancy that much. Business is something I can truly see myself doing and there’s nothing else I’d want to do because of how much I am intrigued by it. I also wanted to double major or minor in Computer Science but at this point I have no other options but within Social Sciences.
Right now I have the idea of heading to my local community college for one year or two (I want to be there the least possible) and then making the switch back to a four year with the major/majors and minor. The question is, how likely is this, do you see any drawbacks, and what’s the best option I should take?
