<p>i know it should not seem worse because of how it happened but with my fear of heights this made my blood run cold.</p>
<p>I winced because I took a masters degree at UMass Amherst and one of the courses was in Resource Economics. That seems strange to type out, but it's a way of saying, the story affects me. It affects everyone who took a moment to click it open and read.</p>
<p>Just being parents is reason enough to connect harder with these stories. We're all connected.</p>
<p>If you've ever driven by Hingham, or live in Massachusetts, or have a kid with the same first name, these kinds of details jump out when the victim is yet fresh in our thoughts. </p>
<p>I feel so badly for his family. This is every parent's nightmare, certainly.</p>
<p>I attended UMass Amherst in the late 70's. We had a similar incident then.</p>
