Some people don't finish. Do not attempt to argue with me over this.

i feel sorry for those people. I could help them. If there are any PM me. I have strategies that raise my M+CR score (best combined) 120 points.

hrm...i remember someone at our school got 2250, but that was the first new SAT, so if he took it again, he would get even closer to perfect....the thing about the SATS are, tho, is that its not all that standardized.... that some of teh proctors are unqualified, like my proctor took off 5 minutes off our essay portion...so it was a 20 min essay instead....wat a ridicoulously short amount of time....well, i got a 1870, i was kinda aiite about it, but my mom was like TAKE IT AGAIN...even tho it was my second try already

no one can really get below 800 tho, they give u all these free points...

To quote Grad'06: "shows you got a good score on sat"

What the hell is wrong with you people? You don't brag about someone getting a low score. Holy crap...

They got good scores. That's what happened.

So what IS considered an "excellent" score for the Ivies (eg. Harvard and Stanford)? I heard it was 2250.

yeh around there

If the SAT didn't measure anything, it wouldn't be used to college admissions. The SAT math does correlate pretty well with IQ and math ability, and the verbal section (obviously) gives a good idea of how good you are with English. You can train to get a better score, and you can be naturally better at test-taking, but chances are, a smart, well-educated person is going to score better than someone who is not as smart and talented in math and language skills. I just offended a lot of people, but thats just how I see it.

someone got an 11 on act

the average millionaire in the United States has an average SAT of 1200 (old SAT). This is from a book called the millionaire mind published a few years ago. I thought it was interesting as many people here on CC think that you won't be successful if you don't have an SAT of 1400+ (or I guess 2100+)...and the average multi-millionaire's was just a bit higher at something like 1250.

THANK YOU...finally someone said it absolutely correctly!

anangrymailman--To quote Grad'06: "shows you got a good score on sat"

y'all are jerks. I don't think that's a good thing to have on a college resume, but how would you get around writing it down without lying.

I'm sorry but I don't like this thread at all. People who say it's "amusing" and "fun" only say so because laughing at the low scores of others feeds their own sense of self-worth. Imagine how someone might feel who actually did get an 1120 on the new SAT's when they chance upon all of the truly insulting and degrading comments on this thread? For example...

kramer3d HOW THE HELL DO SOMEPEOPLE DO SO BAD??? I mean if you just put your info on the test and turn it in BLANK... u get 600! (new SAT)

I don't mean to single you out, kramer3d, but that just isn't right. This thread isn't right.

My friend got a 700 on the old SAT...320/380...I was like :(.

And he took the new SAT and got a 1300... ;O

cfunkexonian....well said.....its disgusting what people say. They should be ashamed of themselves. We are better than that. Dont worry, it only makes them look bad. Let them destroy their image. Not your nor my problem. Our image is intact.

bluealien01, I wasn't particularly proud of my SAT, but I did well. Let me guess. You didn't do too well, so now, it's not that you're not brilliant, it's that the test sucks and doesn't accuratly measure your genious.

Right. Because I am doing very well in college.

Ok, so I have no idea what your situation is, but people who think that the SAT does not give any idea to colleges of your skills in math and english, aren't the brightest.
