See first post in “Prospective BS Parent Library” thread for SSAT review book reccos. Many people just buy the one offered by SSAT…some don’t buy any at all.

I think the main thing is to get your hands on a practice test and see how you do. Keep in mind that even the most selective schools wait list or deny 99%-ers.

wow thank you so much , im actually new to this site so I honestly appriciate all the help I can get.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE. Standardized tests like these are just as much about how well you can take the test/your familiarity with the test, as how well you know the stuff being tested. I personally like Princeton Review’s prep book the most, but it is my practice to borrow all test books from the public library, so I didn’t actually buy anything.

Don’t get too freaked out by having to omit. The SSAT takes off points for incorrect answers, but none for omitted ones. In some cases (EG: when you can’t use POE to eliminate at all), it may indeed be in your score’s best interest to omit instead of guess.

Thanks cherry rose !! I really am going to study my hardest , and my moms getting me an ssat tutor ( I honestly don’t think it’s necessary , but whatever boost my chances ) I just ordered the Kaplan and Princeton review guide so thanks :)

I did some mild studying out of the Kaplan book for a little under a week, so even though 93rd percentile isn’t my full potential, this whole prep school thing was last minute… the Kaplan book definitely helped guide my studies, and I guess it was one of the things that helped me land my full merit scholarship!
