The most unsafe ones that come to mind are Yale, USC and JHU. Generally you’re going to have a lot of crime in big cities, which will lead to you being less safe.

The safest places are typically ones at smaller colleges, or more rural ones. The midwest is a great place to look – not much crime there, compared to some other places.

It may help to become trained in some sort of martial art, or carry some sort of weapon on you to protect yourself if you want to go to one of those high ranking, but crime filled universities.

I believe the OP means which universities are safety schools for acceptance.

I actually rather enjoy that response, though. Going to school in Boston, maybe I should start carrying a pair of nun-chucks with me. :)

There’s only more crime because there’s more people. Some of the places on the “most dangerous cities” list would surprise people, like Flint, MI and Bridgeport, CT. Also, the Midwest is a diverse place - on the most dangerous cities list is also Detroit, St. Louis, Kansas City, Milwaukee and Minneapolis. (Not that I would put too much stock into those lists anyway, since millions of people live and go to school in these cities without ever being attacked.)

Anyway, there are no such things as safety schools when it comes to grad admissions. Apply to programs that are good fits for you and hope for the best.
