Hey everybody, I know which upper tier schools that I will apply to as reaches, but I was wondering if I could get some suggestions for target and safety schools.
My stats are: 2150 SAT (1450 without writing)
33 ACT
3.7 unweighted GPA, 4.1 weighted with a tough schedule
2 sport Varsity athlete
strong extras

I'm looking for a medium to big sized school with a lot of school spirit, good sports teams, an active social life (don't care if its greek dominant or not), preferably in the east or midwest. Any ideas? Anything helps.

You should have at least 2 financial safeties, with one giving you a full ride or something close to it. Try using CollegeBoard to search. You can plug in all these criteria and it will spit out colleges for you.

Financial safety isn't a big concern for me. And it seems that when I use the Princeton Review and collegeboard stuff, a lot of the time they give me absolutely terrible reccomendations. I'd just like to hear from some people rather than some website function.

what state are you from? Because it seems like a big state school like UMich, Berkeley, UCLA etc. might be a good fit for you, but it depends on what state you're from

Most of the large state schools (UMich, Penn State, Rutgers, UTexas, Ohio State etc.) have a lot of school spirit, good football teams, and have large social scenes.

Northwestern and Duke would be reasonable applications early decision, otherwise reaches. The remainder should be good matches regular decision. Wisconsin (even Honors program) should be considered "safe."

All will fulfill your requirements for strong academics, a lively social scene, and competitive sports programs.
