I forgot to mention this in the previous post, so I will mention it now. Getting the NROTC application in early is HUGE. I recommend getting it filled out as soon as it opens in the summer as it takes a bit of time not only to fill out the application, but also to conduct his physical fitness test and schedule his officer interview. Getting the application done early places him on the first “board” which greatly improves his shot at a scholarship. By the way, Purdue might be a great safety school— fantastic engineering program and he is upwards of the 75th percentile of admitted students. They also have a super NROTC unit there.
